Richmond Lacrosse juniors Julia Schmuckler and Megan Gianforte started their collegiate season strong with a 15-8 win over Campbell on Saturday February 16th.  Both girls have a history playing for T3 Lacrosse but being from opposite sides of the state, they often played against each other. Now, it’s a different story as they both are looking forward to another season together as teammates.

In the season opener, Megan stood out in goal with ten saves for the day, stopping four out of seven free position shots.  Julia Schmuckler tallied four draw controls, a caused turnover and two ground balls overall.  Megan and Julia were both happy to contribute to the win and look forward to what the season has in store for them!

The pair was asked what T3 Lacrosse tournament was their favorite respectively.  For Megan, it was her senior year at the Best of the Beach. “In this tournament we beat T3 North and my current teammate Julia Schmuckler for the trophy. It was my last hurrah for the squad on my T3 team before we dispersed into our college careers.”  Julia remembers the Fall Face Off. “Having the opportunity to play games with and against your T3 friends is an awesome opportunity and great memories are always made.” She also remembers it being in “a great location” with “cool vendors” but doesn’t quite remember losing to Megan 😉.

Regardless, T3 Lacrosse will be following the girls as they set to compete Thursday February 21st against 12th ranked Virginia! Good Luck!
